Linnutee Konsult OÜ (“Linnutee”) recognises the importance of personal data protection. This notice gives information about how we collect and process your personal data, and should be read together with all notices and information (including the Terms and Conditions, the pop-up asking for cookie preferences upon the first visit to our website, and information in the “Cookies Preferences Centre” upon clicking “Change my preferences”).
References to “you” or “your” are references to individuals whose personal data Linnutee may process in connection with use of this website and/or provision of fee quotes and services (whether through our contact form or by email).
Personal data includes any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. It does not include data that cannot be linked in an individual (anonymous data). Special categories of personal data include details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data. In usual circumstances, we do not foresee collecting any sensitive personal data, but in any case, it is our commitment to abide by all rules and regulations which are applicable in the circumstances.
In addition to cookies (as explained in the “Cookies Preferences Centre”), we collect your personal data when you submit the contact form (accessed through “Get a quote now” buttons or “Enquiries” tab in the side menu) or reach out to us by email. On such occasions and any subsequent provision of services, we may collect data including your identity (including full legal name and identity documents), contact information, bank account details, details of the services requested or previous provided. Technical data is also collected when you use the website through its code, which is created and maintained by Edicy OÜ (registry code: 12176224; Raekoja plats 1, 51003 Tartu) (“Voog”) subject to their Data Processing Addendum.
We are required to set out the legal basis for processing (using) your personal data. Subject to applicable laws from time to time, we use your personal data for compliance with our legal or regulatory obligations (which include professional rules applicable to England & Wales solicitors eg checking for potential conflict of interest, know-your-client obligations, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing regulations), performance of contracts (under a retainer by you and/or taking steps at your request eg preparing a fee quote before you decide to retain us), and/or otherwise where necessary for our legitimate interests (in which case we will consider if your fundamental rights override such interests).
We will only use your personal data for the aforesaid purposes for which it was collected, unless a new purpose is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you as to the legal basis of doing so. Note that we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent if required or permitted by law. We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including record keeping requirements imposed by professional rules.
Linnutee is committed to handling your personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”). You have various rights as a data subject, including the following:
- to be informed about how your personal data is used
- to access your personal data
- to rectify any inaccurate personal data
- to erase personal data (“right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances
- to object to processing of personal data in certain circumstances
- not to be subject to automated decisions having a significant effect on you
- to lodge a complaint with your Data Protection Authority (which may be done without first contacting us, although we strongly urge you to do so)
